ATLANTA (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV women's swimming junior Ava Olson finished the first swim of her two-event week at the NCAA Championships Wednesday at the McAuley Aquatic Center.
Competing in the 1650 free, Olson notched a 22nd-place finish with a time of 16:27.04.
Olson's swim on the national stage in the event came after she broke a 15-year-old program record (16:23.21) at the Mountain West Championships.
UP NEXT: Olson will conclude her trip Friday competing in the 500 free, while freshman Rachel Wigginton will swim in the 200 fly on Saturday. Prelims for each day will start at 7 a.m. PT, followed by potential finals at 3 p.m. PT.
