LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's and women's swimming and diving teams will open the 2026-27 season in Tempe, Arizona, at 6 p.m. PT on Friday, Oct. 2, in a dual meet against Arizona State's preseason No. 6 men's squad and No. 18 women's squad.
The Rebel men's team, which returns as a member of the Mountain West, brings back several student-athletes who finished in the top eight across multiple individual events during the spring's MPSF Championships. In that group are swimmers Ambrus Barcsak (100 free,200 free, 500 free), Lucas Diermayr (100 free, 100 fly, 50 free), Kian Keylock (200 breast, 200 IM), Wikus Potgieter (200 back, 100 fly, 100 back champion), Logan Calhoun (1650 Free, 500 Free), Luke Leon Guerrero (1650 Free, 500 Free) and diver Evan Stingley (1-Meter, 3-Meter).
Meanwhile, the Rebel women return several All-Mountain West honorees from a year ago. Among those returners are Ava Olson (1650 Free and 500 Free Champion), who qualified for the NCAA Championships in both of her events, diver Allyse Abbott (1-meter) and swimmers Fernanda Mendez Guerra (100 fly), Halayna Montrichard (100 back and 200 back), Lauren Palacios (200 fly), Dominika Trentkiewicz (100 back) and Grace Wharton (200 back, 200 IM and 400 IM).
