Oct. 1, 2016 Pacific Palisades, CA (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV Tennis sophomore Aiwen Zhu split her two Saturday matches in singles prequalifying during the first day of action at the 2016 Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships being played at the Riviera Country Club.
Zhu fell 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 to Katie Poluta of Texas in the opening round but then bounced back to win, 6-4, 6-1, to Ines Vias of Illinois in consolation play.
Next up, Zhu will now play doubles with partner Carol Yang in the qualifying draw.
