Home Opener This Weekend Against Utes, Cougars

Nov. 3, 2016

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV swimming and diving teams will host its first home meets of the year as it continues the annual series with former Mountain West rivals Utah and BYU. The Rebels will first meet the Utah Utes on Friday at 6 pm, followed by a Saturday morning contest at 11 am, with both meets held in Buchanan Natatorium on the UNLV campus. Fans can follow the live results on UNLVRebels.com.

The women's squad has already seen action this year when it took on in-state rival Nevada, Reno on the road in October. The freshmen classed shined in that competition, with three first-years all claiming one individual event, while senior Kristina Hendrick also claimed a win for the Rebels.

This will be the first overall competition for the UNLV men, who bring back two key swimmers, Tom Paco-Pedroni and Or Sabatier. That duo, who both swam in the 2015 NCAA Championships, took off the 2015-16 season, using a redshirt while training for their countries Olympic Trials.
