Game Notes vs. Wyoming | 2016-17 Media Guide

The UNLV men's basketball team (7-7, 0-1 MW) will host Wyoming (11-3, 1-0 MW) in its Mountain West home opener on Saturday, Dec. 31, at 1 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center.

The Runnin' Rebels are looking for their first win in league play as they are coming off a 91-77 loss at Colorado State on Wednesday night. .

The Family Fun Pack is back for select games this season and includes Saturday's game vs. the Cowboys. The $56 package (a savings of $40!) includes four end balcony tickets, four hot dogs, and four 16 oz. drinks. It is only available online before gameday.

UNLV, which is 6-3 at home this year, is led in scoring by sophomore guard Jalen Poyser (14.1 ppg), senior forward Tyrell Green (13.2 ppg), senior forward Christian Jones (9.8 ppg) and sophomore guard Kris Clyburn (9.7 ppg). Jones (6.5 rpg) and Green (6.2 rpg) are the team's leading rebounders, while Poyser (3.5 apg) leads in assists. Junior forward Dwayne Morgan was leading the team in rebounding (7.3 rpg), but has missed the last five games because of injury.

Wyoming has won eight of its last nine games, with its only loss during that span coming on a neutral floor against then-No. 23/25 USC in overtime in Las Vegas. The Cowboys are coming off an 84-72 home win over Air Force to open MW play. Wyoming is 1-2 in true road games this year and is led in scoring by sophomore guard Justin James (16.6 ppg), senior guard Jason McManamen (14.7 ppg), junior forward Hayden Dalton (12.6 ppg) and junior forward Alan Herndon (10.3 ppg). Dalton leads the team in rebounding (8.4 rpg) and assists (3.1 apg), while Herndon leads in blocks (1.9 bpg).

Saturday's game will not be televised, but will be streamed on the Mountain West Network with Tony Cordasco and Jevon Banks calling the action. It will also be available on Twitter.
