LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's tennis team is on a roll after posting its sixth straight win in the first of two matches on the day. The Rebels downed the Penguins 6-1 on Sunday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

UNLV improved to 6-0 while Youngstown State fell to 1-7.

UNLV won two doubles matches to secure the team point. Mercedes Lopez Velez and Anna Bogoslavets swept Noelly Longi Nsimba and Ana Stroe 6-0 at the second position while Iren Kotseva and Paola Artiga beat Nehel Sahni and Julianna Heino 6-1 at the third spot.

In singles, the hosts swept five matches.

Carol Zi Yang defeated Dominika Lackova 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1; Aiwen Zhu took down Annina Brendel 6-3, 7-5 at No. 2; Artiga finished off Sofia Macias 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3; Bogoslavets posted a win against Nsimba 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4; and Cristina Moroi downed Sahni 6-1, 6-0 on court six.
