Feb. 6, 2016 New Mexico Collegiate Classic & Multis Results
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV track & field team got another 1-2 finish from Auzsane Crowe-Carter and Mandy Chitwood for the second straight week; however, Saturday's results were in the 800m and a difference of 200m from the previous meet. Including Crowe-Carter's and Chitwood's finish in the 800m, the Rebels claimed six top-eight finishes on the second day of the New Mexico Collegiate Classic & Multis.
Last weekend in Flagstaff, Ariz., Crowe-Carter and Chitwood ran their way to the top of the program's all-time indoor performance list for the 600m at the Mountain T's Invitational. Crowe-Carter was able to move into fourth place in the 800m listing with her winning and personal-best time of 2:09.13. Chitwood crossed the finish line right behind her teammate in 2:11.84.
Spencer Moore registered a personal-best time of 5:07.23 in the mile to finish fifth overall (third collegiately).
Laura Anuakpado finished sixth overall in the 400m (55.19) before she teamed up with Joniece Ervin, Chitwood and Crowe-Carter for a seventh-place showing in the 4x400m relay (3:49.74).
In the shot put, Vanessa Sierra was eighth with a distance of 44-0 (13.41m).
UNLV returns to action in the Pacific Northwest at the University of Washington's Husky Classic in Seattle on Feb. 12-13.
