LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The undefeated No. 59 ranked UNLV women's tennis team broke its 16-match consecutive win streak set in 1992 after defeating Montana 6-1 on Friday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

While the Lady Rebels improved to 17-0, the Grizzlies win streak was snapped giving them an overall record of 3-5.

The hosts began the day by taking two of three doubles matches to forge a 1-0 lead. Carol Zi Yang and Aiwen Zhu blanked Hannah Sulz and Cam Kincaid 6-0 at the top position while Iren Kotseva and Paola Artiga downed Stanzi Stuijt and Lidia Dukic 6-2 on court three.

Moving on to singles, the lady netters' won five matches.

Kotseva kicked things off for the Rebels at the end of the lineup, sweeping Ana Carbo 6-0, 6-1; Zhu downed Francis Dean 6-1, 6-1 at the top position; Anna Bogoslavets whitewashed Kincaid 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4; Yang, ranked 63rd, defeated Dukic 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2; and Artiga posted a 6-4, 6-3 win against Sulz on court three.

"We have a really talented team and the girls have worked hard. We are fortunate to have one of the top coaches in the country in Tim Nichols, who has done an amazing job getting the girls ready to compete. While we are happy with the results so far, we are eager to get out there and compete again next week," head coach Kevin Cory said following the match.

UNLV will return to the Fertitta Tennis Complex on March 26th as it is set to host Hawai'i. Doubles will begin at 10:00 a.m. PT. and admission is free of charge.
