LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's tennis team lost 6-1 to 6th-ranked UCLA on Tuesday at the Lifetime Athletic Club.
The Rebels dropped their third straight to fall to 5-6 overall while the Bruins improved to 12-2 and extended their win streak to five.
The day began with singles competition and UCLA won five matches, one of which was decided by a tiebreaker. The Rebels' lone point came from the bottom of the lineup on court six where Richard Solberg outlasted Austin Rapp, 6-4, 3-6, 1-0(11-9).
Moving into doubles, the Rebels were in need of a rally and fought hard, but the Bruins ended up sweeping all three matches.
UNLV will continue its home stand as it is set to start conference play against No. 60 New Mexico on Friday. Doubles will begin at 11 a.m. PT and admission is free of charge.
