March 25, 2016 UCR Spring Track Classic: Meet Info | Meet Program
LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV track & field program will head to the Inland Empire to participate in Saturday's portion of UC Riverside's Spring Track Classic. After the 12:40 pm opening ceremony and team introductions, the Rebels will take to the track in the 4x100m relay 50 minutes later. In all, the Scarlet & Gray will compete in a total of 10 track events with the meet concluding with the 4x400m relay at 5:50 pm.
The foursome of Micayla Coquia, Destiny Smith-Barnett, Ayana Gales and Drea Austin will comprise the 4x100m relay. At last week's Spring Invitational hosted by UNLV, the relay -- minus Gales -- finished second in a time of 45.97. Coquia and Anuakpado will also compete in the 100m and 200m, respectively. Both won their events last weekend with the former running a 12.38 in the 100m to the latter's 54.41 in the 400m; however, Anuakpado will run the 200m Saturday, an event she posted a personal-best time (54.41) a week ago.
Austin and Anuakpado are slated to run two legs of the 4x400m relay with Auzsane Crowe-Carter and Mandy Chitwood round out the quartet. One week ago, they combined to compile a Spring Invite winning time of 3:42.59. Chitwood will run the 400m one week after she ran a 56.00 (PB), while Crowe-Carter and teammate Spencer Moore are entered in the 1500.
Others competing for the Rebels are Jordan Smith (100m and 200m), Shaye'e Swaine (200m), Sydney Land (200m and 400m), Jordan Smith (100m and 200m), Summer Crawley (400m and 400m hurdles), Miranda Menzies (800m and 1500m), Nikki Regalado (3000m), Rebecca Hobby (3000m), Taylor Pegram (100m hurdles) and Amari Norris (100m hurdles).
