LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The undefeated No. 64 ranked UNLV women's tennis team clinched its 18th consecutive win by defeating Hawai'i 4-3 Saturday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

While the Rebels continue to remain perfect on the season with an 18-0 record, the Rainbow Wahine forged its second consecutive loss to fall to 9-9 overall.

UNLV won two doubles matches to earn a 1-0 lead. No. 76 Carol Zi Yang and Aiwen Zhu downed Paulina Petriskova and Klara Pribylova, 6-2, at the top spot; while Iren Kotseva and Paola Artiga doubled up on Sarah Gealer and Marina Hruba, 6-3, at the bottom of the lineup.

Moving to singles, the Rainbow Wahine scored points at the second, fifth, and sixth positions, but UNLV won matches on courts one, three, and four to clinch it. No. 69 Yang outlasted Cindy Nguyen, 7-6, 5-7, 6-4 at No. 1; Artiga finished off Gealer, 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 at No. 3; and Anna Bogoslavets beat Pribylova, 6-1, 6-1 on court four.

UNLV will return to action at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on Friday when it hosts conference opponent San Jose State. Doubles will begin at 10:30 a.m. PT and admission to all UNLV home matches is free of charge.
