LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The 2016 Mountain West Conference Tournament Champion UNLV women's tennis team finished ranked 52nd in the nation and second in the region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).

Head coach Kevin Cory's squad, which shattered the school record for winning percentage with a final record of 24-2, saw three players finish ranked in the Mountain Region in singles play â€" all of whom will return next season.

Junior Carol Yang was ranked No. 1 the region after finishing with a record of 21-8; MW Freshman of the Year Aiwen Zhu was sixth after a 25-9 campaign; and rookie sensation Anna Bogoslavets finished 14th after losing her first collegiate match and then winning the next 24 of the season. Her spectacular run also broke the Rebel record for winning percentage in a season (.960), besting the 39-6 mark (.867) turned in by All-American Katarina Malec back in 2000.

UNLV also had the No. 5 doubles team in the region as Yang and Zhu combined for an 18-6 mark at the top of the lineup.
