LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) -
The UNLV men's basketball team will travel to Reno, Nev., to face intrastate rival Nevada, Reno, on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 8 p.m. at Lawlor Events Center.

The Mountain West game is also a part of the Governor's Series, presented by NV Energy and Barrick Gold, which is a head-to-head athletic and academic challenge between UNLV and UNR. The winner of the season series in men's basketball will earn three points toward the final score. UNLV has won each of the first four years of the overall competition.

Wednesday's contest will be televised by CBS Sports Network and will be the first time the two teams are meeting this season.

UNLV is led in scoring by sophomore guard Jalen Poyser (12.0 ppg), senior forward Tyrell Green (11.5 ppg), junior guard Jovan Mooring (11.5 ppg) and senior forward Christian Jones (10.5 ppg). Jones (6.4 rpg), sophomore guard Kris Clyburn (5.5 rpg) and Green (5.3 rpg) are the team's leading rebounders, while Mooring (3.7 apg) and Poyser (3.0 apg) lead in assists. Mooring is second in the Mountain West in assists and also second in conference-only games (4.5 apg). Junior forward Dwayne Morgan was leading the team in rebounding (7.3 rpg), but has missed the last 15 games because of injury. It was announced on Jan. 19 that he will miss the rest of the season.

UNR, which is 9-1 at home this season, is coming off a 74-57 loss at Utah State last Wednesday. The Wolf Pack have won two of their last three games and six of their last eight. Senior guard Marcus Marshall leads the MW in scoring (20.3 ppg) and is one of four Wolf Pack players averaging in double figures. Sophomore guard/forward Jordan Caroline (9.2 rpg, 2nd in MW) and sophomore forward Cameron Oliver (8.2 rpg, 5th in MW) are the team's rebounding leaders, while sophomore guard Lindsay Drew leads in assists (5.2 apg, 1st in MW).

TV announcers for Wednesday's game are John Sadak and Chris Walker. Jon Sandler and Robert Smith will handle the UNLV radio call, which may be heard live on ESPN Radio 1100 AM/100.9 FM and online (link at UNLVRebels.com).
