Regalado Takes Second At Aztec Invite

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV track & field program got a couple of fine performances from three of its own Friday at San Diego State's Aztec Invitational. Nikki Regalado ran a time of 9:56.32 at the SDSU Sports Deck to finish second overall in the 3000m; just .01 seconds back of Loyola Marymount's Hannah Wohlenberg, who posted a time of 9:56.31.

Two Rebels ran the 1500m, Spencer Moore finished 11th in a time of 4:29.28 while teammate Caitlin Amburgey was 39th (4:45.27) in her second attempt at the distance.

Saturday's slate will begin with the 4x100m relay at 9:50 am. The first field event that the Rebels will take part in is the long jump at 10:30 am. The day will conclude with the 4x400m relay at 4:40 pm. All throwing events will take place at UC San Diego.

The women's portion of the Invite will feature Air Force, BYU, Cal Baptist, Grand Canyon, Loyola Marymount, No. 25 SDSU, UCSB, UC San Diego, UC Riverside, No. 5 USC, Utah Valley, Wisconsin and other track clubs at this weekend's meet.
