"I am extremely pleased with how the team competed this weekend," said head coach Yvonne Wade. "I think they gained a little more confidence in themselves and accomplished the goals they set for themselves this weekend."
Destiny Smith-Barnett was a key contributor for the Scarlet & Gray, as she won the 200m with a personal-best time of 23.50w that put her atop the Mountain West rankings. She and teammates Ayana Gales, Najia Hudspeth and Drea Austin claimed a first-place finish (45.03) in the 4x100m relay. Rounding out the relay action was the foursome of Mandy Chitwood, Austin, Hannah Davis and Najia Hudspeth that took third in the 4x400m behind a season-best time of 3:38.89.
The Rebels' 100m hurdles crew went 1-2-3 with Taylor Pegram (first, 13.52), Jaela Williams (second, 13.58 PB) and Amari Norris (third, 13.82 PB).
