April 5, 2017 LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Former UNLV tight end Andrew Price and fullback Marc Philippi were both announced as members of the 2017 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society on Wednesday.
The group is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who maintained at least a cumulative 3.2 grade point average throughout their college career. Players from 297 schools qualified for membership as the society celebrated its 11th year.
Qualifications for membership in the NFF Hampshire Honor Society include being a starter or significant contributor in the last year of eligibility at an NCAA FBS, FCS, Division I, Division II, Division III or an NAIA college or university, and meeting all mandated progress towards degree requirements.
Both Rebel representatives on the list earned their bachelor's degrees before playing their final season of eligibility and were pursuing a second degree from the University.
Price, out of Blaine, Washington, holds a career GPA of 3.43 and was a four‐time Academic All‐Mountain West honoree and multiple-time member of the UNLV Dean's Honor List. He ranked second on the team last season with three receiving touchdowns on 16 catches for 231 yards.
Philippi, a Las Vegas native out of Bishop Gorman High School, holds a 3.60 career GPA and was a three-time Academic All-MW honoree and multiple-time member of the Dean's Honor List. The starting fullback for the 2016 Rebels previously lettered at linebacker for the team in 2013 and '14.
