LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV football head coach Tony Sanchez announced the ceremonial signing of 9-year-old Thaddeus Thatcher at a media event on campus Monday afternoon.

Thaddeus was joined by his mother, Chrissie, father, Jamie, brother, Christian, and sister, Juliet, and grandmother for the signing at the Lied Athletic Complex.

Thaddeus, who is a student at Hayes Elementary School, was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2014 but is currently in remission. His love of the sport of football led to him being released to play while still taking chemotherapy treatments. Hisis also an avid wrestler.

UNLV football met Thaddeus thanks to Team Impact, a non-profit organization chartered to improve the quality of life for children facing life threatening and chronic illnesses.
