Six Rebels, Two Relays Earn All-MW Recognition

May 15, 2017

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Fresh off its third-place finish at the Mountain West Outdoor Track & Field Championships, the UNLV Track & Field team had six individuals and two relay squads earn All-Conference Team honors. Leading the Rebel contingent were Najia Hudspeth and Drea Austin, who both individually medaled in the 200m and as members of each relay team.

The Scarlet & Gray also placed Stella Clemens (heptathlon), Taylor Pegram (100m hurdles), Destiny Smith-Barnett (100m) and Kaysee Pilgrim (high jump) on the All-MW Team.

After competing in four conference outdoor meets in her career, Mandy Chitwood has earned All-MW recognition three times as a relay participant in the 4x400m. Chitwood partnered with Austin and the Hudspeth twins to help the Rebels earn All-MW distinction in the event five of the last six years.

The 4x100m relay was comprised of Austin, Najia Hudspeth, Kaysha Love and Smith-Barnett, and it, too, has been a mainstay on the all-conference list with nine top-three finishes in the past 11 years.
