LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV senior wide receiver Devonte Boyd was named preseason First Team All-Mountain West Conference by Athlon to lead a group of eight Rebels honored by the preview publication.

Boyd, a graduate of Henderson's Basic High School, was the league's Freshman of the Year and a FWAA Freshman All-America in 2014 and then earned second team All-MW honors after the 2015 season. Despite missing the final two games with an injury last year, Boyd heads into this fall tied for second in school history with 11 career 100-yard receiving games and ranks third in receiving yards with 2,630, a total that sits third among all active NCAA players. His 164 receptions rank fourth among current FBS players.

A trio of Rebels was named to the second team: senior defensive lineman Mike Hughes Jr., a Las Vegas product out of Palo Verde High School; junior punter Evan Pantels (Suwanee, GA/Peachtree Ridge HS); and junior offensive lineman Nathan Jacobson (Snohomish, WA/Snohomish HS).

Sophomore offensive lineman Justin Polu (Henderson/Silverado HS) and junior running back Lexington Thomas (Houston, TX/Benjamin Davis HS) were members of the third team while senior offensive lineman Kyle Saxelid (Elk Grove, CA/Cosumnes HS) and junior wide receiver Kendal Keys (San Diego, CA/Helix HS) were on Athlon's fourth team.
