Yang's Career Comes To Close With First Round Exit

ATHENS, Ga. (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV senior Carol Yang saw her collegiate career come to an end Wednesday as she fell in the first round of the 2017 NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Singles Championship being played in Athens, Georgia.

Yang, ranked 57th in the nation, was up a service break, 3-1, but eventually went to a first-set tiebreaker vs. No. 30 Stacey Fung, a sophomore from the University of Washington. Fung prevailed 7-4 to take the opening set and then cruised to the 7-6 (4), 6-2 final.

Yang was the ninth Lady Rebel to earn a spot in the NCAA Singles Championship by securing the league's automatic bid as the highest ranked player in the Mountain West. She closed her season at 25-12 overall.
