Pilgrim Named MW Field Athlete Of The Week

May 9, 2017

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV track & field's Kaysee Pilgrim was named the Mountain West's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for the second time in her career after her record-setting performance at the adidas/Steve Scott Invitational in Irvine, California.

The Phoenix native took first in the high jump behind a measurement of 6-1.25 (1.86m) that not only was a program and personal best, but it also tied the Conference's all-time mark. Moreover, the distance is the best registered by an MW student-athlete this season and it sits first overall in the west region and second nationally.

Pilgrim has won all three high jump competitions that she has competed in this season with victories at the UNLV Invitational and Bulldog Invitational as well as the adidas/Steve Scott Invitational.

The Rebels hit the road this week for the 2017 Mountain West Outdoor Championships, which begin Wednesday in Logan, Utah, at Utah State's Ralph Maughan Track Stadium.
