Rebels Sweep Against Wyoming

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's and women's swimming and diving teams swept its Friday Night Lights competition with Wyoming Friday night at the Jim Reitz at UNLV. The Rebel men win by a score of 91-56, while UNLV won the women's side with a score of 77-69. Friday's meet featured a special event lineup with several races not part of a normal dual meet line-up.
THE RUNDOWN - MEN:
* Richard Szilaygi finished first in the 50 back (23.17).
* Richard Szilaygi, Dylan Tarazona, Francios Van Wynesberge, and Forrest Beesley all helped to win the 400 yard medley relay (3:16.21).
* Senior Forrest Beesley placed first in the 100 free (44.76).
* Or Sabatier, Forrest Beesley, Dylan Tarazona, and Mark Theall secured the first place spot in the 200 free relay (1:21.09).
THE RUNDOWN - WOMEN:
* Ida Schutt, Kyndal Phillips, Kate Afanasyeva, and Sofia Carnevale won the 400 medley relay (3:42.11).
* Ida Schutt touched first in the 400 IM (4:19.46).
* Sophomore Sofia Carnevale finished first in the 50 breast (28.82).
NEXT FOR THE REBELS: They will take on both Wyoming and Grand Canyon in double dual meet action tomorrow morning at 11am, at the Jim Reitz pool at UNLV during Senior Day. This will be their last home meet of the season.
