FRIDAY'S PREVIEW...
One school is guaranteed to win its third game of the season while notching its first conference victory of 2018 when UNLV (2-4/0-2) hosts Air Force (2-4/0-3) Friday night during Homecoming ... This will mark the first of three UNLV appearances this fall on CBS Sports Network ... The Rebels, who are 25-25 all-time in Homecoming games, are coming off a 59-28 loss at Utah State while the Falcons fell 21-17 at San Diego State ... Both teams have dealt with injuries at the quarterback position and with starter Armani Rogers out indefinitely because of a foot injury, it has now been 22 years since the same quarterback started every game of a season for the Rebels (Jon Denton 1996) ... Rogers was ranked in the top 10 in the nation with 122.0 rushing yards per game when he was knocked out of action ... RB Lexington Thomas, who himself missed the second half of last week's game vs. the Aggies, sits first in the MW and 29th in the country with 92.0 YPG ... Thomas (552 yards in 2018) recently became the second player in school history to run for at least 500 yards in four different seasons, joining all-time leading Rebel rusher Tim Cornett (2011-14) ... Lex needs 110 more yards to move past two-time All-American Mike Thomas into second place on UNLV's career rushing list and is one 100-yard rushing game short of tying Cornett (16 in 2011-14) for second on the school's career list ... As a team, UNLV continues to lead the MW and sits eighth in the nation with 257.2 yards per game rushing ... UNLV has both made 123 first downs and allowed 123 first downs through the first half of the season ... Under new coordinator Tim Skipper, UNLV's defense equaled its QB sack total from a year ago with 11 in the first four games.

REBELS vs. FALCONS NOTES...
In a series that dates back to 1981, Air Force leads 15-6 and has won the last two ... These teams have played on a Friday once before with host UNLV taking a 42-39 season-ending thriller on Nov. 24, 2006, to break a 10-game losing skid ... Air Force has served as the opponent for a UNLV Homecoming one other time and the Falcons took that one 29-28 on Oct. 18, 2008 ... Because of divisional scheduling in the MW, this marks the first trip to Las Vegas for the Falcons since 2014 ... In this high-flying series the winning team has averaged 38 points and never scored less than 24 ... AFA is the only service academy team UNLV has ever met on the football field.
