Carnevale Closes Out Season At 2018 NCAA Championships

COLUMBUS (UNLVRebels.com) -UNLV's Sofia Carnevale competed Saturday at the 2018 NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships, held this year in Columbus, Ohio at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavillion on the Ohio State campus.

Carnevale closed out her sophomore season by finishing 52nd in the 200 breast with a time of 2:14.05. This was her first NCAA Championship competition.

QUOTABLE-

"This is a great swim meet, the fastest in the world. At a certain level we are happy to be here, since we weren't a year ago. But we are competitive coaches and we have competitive athletes - of course it is in the forefront of our minds that we want to come here and perform better. There were some really good takeaways from this weekend that are going to make us better as we look toward next season."

Freshman Brad Gonzales will compete in the 1650 free next week, March 21-24, at the 2018 NCAA Men Swimming & Diving Championships held at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
