QUOTABLE: "We are so proud of Avi," said head coach Yvonne Wade, the 2017 and '18 Mountain West Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year. "She has had an amazing indoor season and showed to be one of the best athletes in the country, as a freshman. She, with the help of coach Jebreh Harris, will continue to get stronger, and she will be a dominant force as we transition to the outdoor season."
"I'm extremely proud of Avi," noted Harris. "This young lady is one of the best runners in the nation and that has something she has earned. With this experience, she will implement the knowledge gained into her quest on getting back to the national championships again. Avi made me a proud coach and I appreciate her dedication to our program and the process of being a champion!"
NOTE: This is the second straight year that UNLV has produced a Second Team All-American, as Perteete's teammate Destiny Smith-Barnett earned the distinction with a 14th-place finish in the 60m at the 2017 meet.
