LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's tennis team grabbed momentum in doubles play and then cruised to a 6-1 victory over San Jose State on a beautiful Sunday for tennis at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

The Rebels improved to 11-5 overall and 3-0 vs. Mountain West opponents while the Spartans fell to 10-6 and 0-1.

UNLV shook up its doubles lineup Sunday and it paid off. After each team got a win, all eyes moved to court two where Anna Bogoslavets and new doubles partner Juliet Zhang forced a tiebreaker and then took it 7-6 (7-3) to earn their team the key early point.

In singles, the hosts won the first set on the first five courts and got straight-set victories on four of them, including No. 53 Aiwen Zhu fighting off Sybille Gauvin 6-4, 6-4.

REBEL OF THE MATCH: Junior Anna Bogoslavets teamed with Zhang for the clincher in doubles and then gave her team a 2-0 lead by rolling over Jackie Wagner on court four, 6-0, 6-2.

STAT OF THE MATCH: For the first time all season, UNLV won the doubles point after losing on court one.

QUOTABLE: "We did a good job closing out the doubles point with new teams today. In singles we came out strong against a very good San Jose State team. Overall it was a good day for the Rebels."

NEXT FOR THE REBELS: UNLV will close out its home schedule by hosting Montana Thursday. The Senior Day non-conference affair will start with doubles play at 10:30 a.m. Admission is free of charge.
