April 23, 2018

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's tennis team, which finished undefeated in league play to earn the regular-season title, will head to Boise, Idaho, this weekend for the Mountain West Women's Tennis Championship.

The 2018 MW Women's Tennis Championship will be held April 26-29 beginning with the first round on Thursday. This spring marked the second straight and fifth overall regular-season crown in UNLV women's history – all coming under head coach Kevin Cory. The Rebels have also won more MW tournament crowns – five – than any other school.

After enjoying a bye, top-seeded UNLV (14-5/5-0 in MW) will open play on Friday at 9 a.m. PT and face the winner of Thursday's opening-round match between #8 Nevada and #9 New Mexico.

Saturday's semifinals are slated for 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. PT while Sunday's championship will begin at 10 a.m. PT. The semifinals and championship matches will be broadcast live and for free on the Mountain West Network.

Since the event's inception in 2000, head coach Kevin Cory has led his program to a sparkling 32-13 record in MW tournament play. UNLV advanced to at least the semifinals every season except for three, including winning it all in 2000, '02, '08, '13 and ‘16.
