UNLV Star Zhu Starts Senior Year With Career-High Rankings

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV women's tennis star Aiwen Zhu will begin her senior year at a career-high position in both singles and doubles as the Oracle ITA National Preseason Rankings were released this week.
 
Zhu, the defending Mountain West Player of the Year, is at No. 49 in singles after a 27-10 mark last season that included a win at the NCAA Singles Championship. She boasts a career record of 74-25 as a Rebel.
 
In doubles, Zhu and partner En-Pei Huang will start out at No. 37 in the nation after a 24-8 campaign that saw them end the spring at No. 80.
 
Zhu, Huang and their team will open fall tournament play by hosting their annual invite Sept. 21-23 at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on campus.
