LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Â Riding a three-game winning streak, its longest of the season, the UNLV women's basketball team will look to make it four straight when it faces the New Mexico Lobos Wednesday night at 6 pm (PT) in The Pit in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Lobos will also bring a three-game win streak into the game after knocking off Wyoming in Laramie 78-75 this past weekend.
Â
There will be a live video stream of the contest on the MW Network while the radio broadcast will feature the call of Adam Candee. Both the video stream and the radio broadcast can be accessed at UNLVRebels.com.
UNLV Game NotesÂ
♦ A win over the Lobos would keep UNLV (3-2 in the MW) in the top five of the conference standings, as it holds a one-game lead over Wyoming (2-3), while Fresno State is currently one game ahead at 4-1. New Mexico meanwhile is tied for second at 5-1 with Utah State.
♦ The Lady Rebels are looking for a season sweep of the Lobos after surprising UNM 66-57 just 14 days earlier in Las Vegas. That snapped New Mexico's 11-game winning streak, which had ranked third in the nation at the time.
♦ UNLV has won six straight in the all-time series against the Lobos, and a win Wednesday would tie for its longest win streak ever against UNM.
♦ The Lady Rebels have won six of their past eight games in the Pit, and their eight overall victories on the Lobos home court are the most of any conference team in the 20-year history of the MW.
♦ UNLV head coach Kathy Olivier is the only active coach in the MW with a winning record at The Pit, as she is 6-4 all-time with the Lady Rebels in Albuquerque.
♦ UNLV has been showing marked improvement on defense in conference action, holding four of its past five opponents to under 58 points.
