Lady Rebels Ink Sydni Summers To 2025-26 Roster

The 5-foot-5 guard will become a Lady Rebel after playing two seasons at San Jose State

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV women's basketball has received a signed commitment from Sydni Summers to join the Lady Rebels for the 2025-26 season, head coach Lindy La Rocque announced today.
 
"Sydni has been a familiar opponent and now we're thrilled to welcome her to Rebel Nation," said La Rocque. "She is a dynamic guard with a great handle and can stretch the floor with her shooting. She has a team-first mentality that will continue our championship culture on and off the court!"
 
Summers, a 5-foot-5 guard from Inglewood, California, started her collegiate career with Mountain West foe San Jose State. Through two seasons, Summers has collected 536 career points (8.9 points per game), 136 assists (2.26 assists per game) and 52 steals. During the 2024-25 season, Summers was the Spartans' second-leading scorer, averaging 9.9 points per game. Additionally, she led San Jose State in free throw percentage shooting 92.3 percentage (48-for-52) and in assists with 76. She ended the 24-25 season at sixth all-time on the SJSU's single-season three-pointers made lists (69) and the sophomore program record. In addition, she had 17 double-figure scoring performances last season and had 11 in her freshman season.
 
She was named to the Mountain West All-Freshman squad following her freshman campaign where she averaged 7.8 points per game on a .351 shooting percentage. She recorded her first career double-double against Bethesda on Nov. 27 with 13 points and 10 assists, as she became the first Spartan since 2019 to record double-digit assists.
 
Summers is the final piece of the Lady Rebels 2025-26 roster and she joins Ongolea Afu, Destiny Brown, Shelbee Brown, Mariah Elohim, Trystan James, Hodaya Kabada, Destiny Leo and Alexis Swillis as incoming players for the 2025-26 season.
