Destiny Smith-Barnett was named the Mountain West's Track Athlete of the Week after her win in the 60m Friday at Northern Arizona's Lumberjack Team Challenge in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Smith-Barnett's time of 7.17 was not only good enough to win the race, but it sits first in the NCAA and tied for first in the IAAF world standings.

The senior and native of Oakland, California, bested her personal- and program-best time by .03 seconds (7.20) en route to winning her second straight 60m race at an NAU hosted meet.
NEXT TIME OUT: The Rebels will travel to the Pacific Northwest this weekend for the UW Invitational in Seattle. The squad will send its distance and multi-event student-athletes to the two-day meet contested at the Dempsey Indoor.
ALL-COMERS MEET: The UNLV track & field program will host its second All-Comers Meets at Myron Partridge Stadium & Sheila Tarr-Smith Field on Feb. 16. Participants (open to the public) can compete in the meets for $5 for one event or $10 for two or more. Spectators are $5. Action begins at 9:30 am with the shot put and concludes at 12:50 pm with the 4x400m relay.
