LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Lauren Jordan has been hired as an assistant swimming coach for the UNLV men's and women's swimming & diving programs, Rebel head coach Ben Loorz announced Monday.
"Ben has given me an opportunity that most age group club coaches will never have," said Jordan. "Ben has a vision for where he wants this program to be, and I am excited to be apart of that. The staff here is very knowledgeable and creative, allowing me to learn something new everyday. I am very blessed and thankful to be here at UNLV."
Jordan was a swimmer for the University of Arkansas from 2012-14 where she was NCAA All-American in the 1650 free, a three-time Division 1 National Qualifier and an Olympic Trials qualifier.
"We are very excited to welcome Lauren to the staff," said Loorz. "She is a rising name in the college coaching ranks who brings a high-level swimming background blended with an extensive amount of on-deck experience."
Jordan spent 2017-19 working as the lead coach for Dynamo Swim Club in Chamblee, GA. She marketed the Dynamo program, managed the pool facilities, became CPO certified, and managed all the Dynamo Swim Club home swim meets. From 2015-17 Jordan was a full-time coach for Splash Club Inc. in Bartlesville, OK. During her time there she would assist the head coach with the senior training group, lead coach of the elementary school group. and was the head of communications for the club. From 2014-15, she worked as a part-time coach for the Razorback Aquatic Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas. there she assisted the head coach with the senior training group during both long and short course season. She was also the lead coach for the 10 and under age group during long course season.
From 2010-13 Jordan was a part-time coach at the Carmel Swim Club in Carmel, Indiana. There she taught various levels and age groups in accordance with Carmel Swim Club's instructional guidelines, planned practices, selected appropriate dryland activities, and evaluated the swimmers' progress.
