LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – Less than a month into the season, UNLV has already seen three different Rebels earn Mountain West Women's Tennis Player of the Week honors as junior
En-Pei Huang earned her first career award Wednesday.
The native of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, went a perfect 6-0 over the weekend in singles and doubles while helping her team to shutout victories over Youngstown State, UTEP and Weber State. She and
Aiwen Zhu teamed up at the top of the doubles lineup and won a trio of matches by a combined score of 18-3 while Huang won her singles matches at the fourth position by a combined 36-8.
Zhu won her seventh career MW Player of the Week honor last month and
Izumi Asano was a first-time winner just a week ago.
This marks just the third time in history that UNLV had three players earn the conference award in one season (2010 and 2011).
