RENO, Nev. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's basketball team lost 89-73 at No. 12/13 UNR on Wednesday night in a Mountain West game at Lawlor Events Center.
Three Runnin' Rebels (15-13, 9-7) scored in double figures, led by sophomore guard Amauri Hardy's 19 points. He was 6 of 12 from the field, including 3 of 4 on 3-pointers. Senior guard Kris Clyburn had 18 points, while senior guard Noah Robotham added 16. Sophomore forward Mbacke Diong recorded a team-high nine rebounds.
Jordan Caroline and Caleb and Cody Martin combined to score 67 points for the Wolf Pack (26-2, 13-2). Caleb Martin had a game-high 24 points on 8 of 13 from the field, including 6 of 11 on 3-pointers. He also had a game-high four steals. Cody Martin scored 23 with a game-high eight assists and Caroline recorded a double-double with 20 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
NOTES:
- UNR led by as many as 20 points in the second half. A 9-1 UNLV run, including two Hardy 3-pointers, cut the Wolf Pack's lead to 68-57 with 7:48 to play, but the Runnin' Rebels couldn't get closer than 11 the rest of the way.
- UNR led 46-28 at the half.
- After shooting just 34.4 percent in the first half (11 of 32), UNLV was 17 of 31 in the second half for 54.8 percent.
- UNLV out-rebounded UNR, 40-28 for the game.
- UNLV committed 17 turnovers (11 in the first half), while UNR only had eight for the game.
- UNR shot 53.3 percent from the field for the game, making 16 of 30 shots in each half.
- The Wolf Pack made 13 3-pointers on 27 attempts (48.1 percent).
- UNR swept the regular season series with UNLV and has won six of the past seven meetings.
- UNLV has made at least one 3-pointer in a NCAA-record 1,067 straight games.
