Runnin' Rebels Win In Overtime On Senior Night

Seniors Kris Clyburn and Noah Robotham power UNLV to 85-81 victory over Boise State at the Thomas & Mack Center Saturday night.

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV senior guards Kris Clyburn and Noah Robotham led the UNLV men's basketball team (16-13, 10-7) to an 85-81 overtime win against Boise State on Senior Night in a Mountain West game at the Thomas & Mack Center Saturday night.

Clyburn scored a game-high 21 points, making five 3-pointers, while Robotham nearly recorded a double-double with 13 points and a game-high nine assists (just one turnover). There were a total of six Runnin' Rebel players in double figures in scoring. Sophomore guard Amauri Hardy added 16 points with a career-high 11 rebounds for the first double-double of his career.

Boise State (11-18, 6-10) was led by Derrick Alston's 21 points.




SEASON SWEEP: With the win, UNLV swept the regular-season series with the Broncos. The Runnin' Rebels also won 83-72 in Boise on Feb. 6. Is it the first time since 2012 that UNLV went 2-0 against Boise State.

HOW IT ENDED: Junior forward Nick Blair and Robotham each made two free throws in the final 32.6 seconds of overtime. Clyburn's layup with 1:47 gave UNLV a 79-78 lead, which it never relinquished.

FIRST HALF RUNS: Boise State used a 20-6 run in the first half to take a 30-16 lead (its largest of the game), but UNLV went on a 20-4 burst to give itself a two-point advantage at 36-34. Boise State led 42-40 at the half.

END OF REGULATION: Justinian Jessup made a long jumper to tie the game with one second to play. Robotham's near full-court heave was wide.

10 MOUNTAIN WEST WINS: UNLV has recorded 10 wins in Mountain West play for the first time since 2014 and is guaranteed to finish above .500 in league play for the first time in five seasons. 

NOTES: 
- UNLV is now 2-0 in overtime games this season (won vs. BYU on Dec. 15 at T-Mobile Arena).
- In two games against Boise State this year, Robotham has recorded 19 assists with just one turnover.
- UNLV improved its record to 7-0 this season when shooting 50 percent or better.
- With 12 made 3-pointers against the Broncos, UNLV has now made at least nine 3s in 10 of its last 14 games.
- UNLV out-rebounded Boise State, 39-24, marking the 23rd time this season with more rebounds than its opponent.
- There were 11 lead changes and four ties throughout.
- UNLV has made at least one 3-pointer in a NCAA-record 1,068 straight games.

NEXT FOR THE RUNNIN' REBELS: UNLV will have a mid-week bye next week and conclude the regular season at Colorado State on Saturday, March 9 at 1 p.m. PT. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3.
