LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – Fresh off a runner-up finish to conclude the 2019 indoor season, the Rebel track & field program will transition into its outdoor campaign this week with the three-day UNLV Spring Invitational & Sheila Tarr-Smith Multis. The meet will take place on UNLV's campus at Myron Partridge Stadium & Sheila Tarr-Smith Field.
The first two days of the meet – Thursday and Friday – will consist of the men's decathlon and the women's heptathlon as well as the hammer (Friday), while Saturday's schedule is packed with a plethora of events track and field events. The decathlon kicks off day one and two's action at 11:00 am and 10:30 am, respectively, with the heptathlon following shortly thereafter.
The Rebels will face competition from six squads from the Beehive State, as BYU, Dixie State, Southern Utah, Utah Valley, Weber State and Westminster College will travel south down I-15. Fresno State, Northern Colorado and Cerritos College will also participate in the season-opening meet.

- UNLV will have five of six individuals that earned 2019 Mountain West Indoor All-Conference Team honors transition to the outdoor season, as
Jasmyne Graham (hurdles),
Jada Hicks (hurdles),
Mackenna Howard (throws),
Avi'Tal Wilson-Perteete (middle distance) and
Jonon Young (jumps) will represent the Scarlet & Gray this spring.
- Last year, Graham, Howard and Wilson-Perteete were MW Outdoor All-Conference Team representatives, as were 2019 squad members
Kaysha Love (sprints) and
Jaela Williams (hurdles/jumps).
- In the 2018 outdoor season, Wilson-Perteete ran the second-fastest 800m time in the NCAA (2:01.14), earned USTFCCCA Second Team All-America honors in the 800m, won the 800m at the MW Outdoors, and finished third in the 800m at the USA Junior Outdoor Championships.
