AUSTIN, Texas (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV track & field program will have two 100m hurdlers as well as its 4x100m relay competing in the event finals Saturday after qualifying from Friday's preliminary rounds at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. Besides the two track events, the Rebels will also have
Mackenna Howard participating in the shot put (section A) Saturday, the final day of the four-day meet which is being held at the University of Texas' Mike A. Myers Stadium.
Jasmyne Graham and
Taylor Pegram finished fifth (13.29) and seventh (13.32), respectively, in the prelims of the 100m hurdles to advance to the event final. Graham also ran the third leg of the 4x100m relay (ninth place/45.82) with teammates
Jada Hicks,
Kaysha Love and
Drea Austin.
Besides helping the 4x100m relay advance move on to Saturday, Austin also ran legs of the 4x400m relay (10th/3:44.71) and 1600m Sprint Medley Relay (seventh/3:57.83). She was the anchor of the former race with Amari Prude,
Avi'Tal Wilson-Perteete and
Alexis Surrell, and was the second runner in the race rounded out by
Kaysha Love,
Gizelle Reid and
Elisa Rovere.
Cassidy Osborne-Butler took third in the shot put (section B) with a mark of 50-10.75 (15.51m).
The Longhorn Network, ESPN's 24-hour network devoted to UT Athletics, will televise 14 hours of the meet with Paul Sunderland providing play-by-play and Ahmad Brooks serving as sideline reporter. Former U.S. Olympians Dan O'Brien and Dwight Stones will serve as analysts.
REBEL NOTES:
- The 4x100m relay will run at 1:35 pm CT (11:35 am PT).
- The 100m hurdles will run at 2:17 pm CT (12:17 pm PT).
- The shot put (section A) will start at 4:00 pm CT (2:00 pm PT).
- Love finished 27th overall in the 100m (11.79).
- Hicks and
Jaela Williams were 16th (13.49) and 42nd (14.21) in the 100m hurdles.
- Williams was 10th in the long jump (17-10.25/5.44m).
