LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's tennis team posted its second straight shutout, this time over Mountain West rival Fresno State, 4-0, on a gorgeous Sunday morning at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
 
The Rebels needed less than two hours to improve to 11-6 overall, 9-2 at home and 2-0 vs. league competition. The Bulldogs fell to 7-9 and 0-2 in the MW.
 
The hosts took the first two completed doubles matches for a 1-0 lead and then came out smoking in singles, taking the first set on five of six courts before clinching it with three straight-setters.
 
REBEL OF THE MATCH: En-Pei Huang teamed with Aiwen Zhu to win for the ninth time in the duo's last 10 outings, 6-3, at the top of the doubles lineup and then set the tone in singles by quickly downing Shir Azran on court three, 6-2, 6-0.
 
NET NOTES: Zhu, ranked 96th in the nation, improved to 24-6 overall and 11-2 in duals as a senior with a 6-4, 6-0 win over Jennifer Timotin … Zhu is in sixth place at UNLV with 97 career singles victories … Zhu's doubles win moved her into a four-way tie for third place all-time at the school with 84.

NEXT FOR THE REBELS: UNLV will close out its home schedule by hosting in-state rival UNR Friday as part of the Silver State Series presented by IBEC and Nevada Donor Network. Doubles play starts at 10 a.m. following ceremonies to honor the team's three seniors who are playing their final match at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
