Nathan Guzman were both announced as members of the 2019 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society Wednesday.
The group is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who maintained at least a cumulative 3.2 grade point average throughout their college career. Players from 424 schools qualified for membership as the society celebrated its 13th year.
Qualifications for membership in the NFF Hampshire Honor Society include being a starter or significant contributor in the last year of eligibility at an NCAA FBS, FCS, Division I, Division II, Division III or an NAIA college or university, and meeting all mandated progress towards degree requirements.
Pantels (Suwanee, GA) was a four-time Academic All-Mountain West honoree who earned his bachelor's degree in marketing in December. One of the most accurate field goal kickers in Rebel history, Pantels also set the school record by hitting 80 consecutive extra points. He also kicked off during his career and averaged more than 41 yards as a punter at UNLV.
Guzman (Whittier, CA) is a former junior-college transfer who took over as the team's starter on special teams as a senior in 2018 and went on to lead the nation in tackles by a long snapper. Earning his bachelor's degree in economics in December, Guzman was also an Academic All-MW honoree.
