Netter Huang Picks Up Second MW Honor

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – For the second time this season, UNLV's En-Pei Huang has been named Mountain West Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.

The native of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, went a perfect 4-0 over the weekend in singles and doubles while helping her team to shutout victories over UNR at home on Friday and then at San Jose State on Sunday. Those wins kept the Rebels perfect in Mountain West play this season.

Huang and doubles partner Aiwen Zhu are ranked 62nd in the nation and their wins over the Wolf Pack and Spartans at the top position upped their record to 21-8 this season. In singles, Huang, who plays at the No. 3 spot in the lineup, improved to 22-8.

Huang also earned the award Feb. 13. It marks the fourth such honor for the program this season as Zhu and Izumi Asano also earned the title earlier this year.
