ALBUQUERQUE (UNLVRebels.com) – After a brief weather delay, the UNLV men's tennis team lost 4-0 to New Mexico Friday afternoon at the McKinnon Family Tennis Stadium.
 
The Rebels, who were shut out for the first time this season, fell to 13-6 overall and 2-3 in the Mountain West while the red-hot Lobos remained in charge of the Mountain West by winning their sixth straight outing to improve to 10-6/5-0.
 
The Rebels put up a fight in doubles, nearing victory in a tiebreaker at the top of the lineup before UNM clinched the point with a 7-5 win on court three. The hosts won the first set on five of six courts in singles and ended things with a trio of quick victories -- all in the top half of the lineup.
 
REBEL OF THE MATCH: Sophomore Clayton Alenik was the only UNLV player to win a set, taking the first vs. Facundo Bermejo on court five, 7-5, before the match was halted during the second.
 
NEXT FOR THE REBELS: UNLV will stay on the road and play at Air Force Sunday beginning at 11 a.m. PT.
