LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV track & field program concluded UC Irvine's Steve Scott Invitational with six victories and a total of 16 top-eight finishes amongst collegiate competition Saturday. The Rebels claimed the shot put and 4x400m relay outright, and had the top collegiate finisher in the 4x100m relay, 200m, 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles on the second and final day of the meet held at Anteater Stadium.
The Rebels foursome of
Jada Hicks,
Kaysha Love,
Jasmyne Graham and
Emerald Bowens got the day started with a first-place showing amongst collegiate squads (second overall) with a time of 45.27.
Hicks also ran the 100m hurdles alongside teammates
Taylor Pegram and
Jaela Williams, and the trio were the top-three collegians in the event. Hicks was first (fourth overall) in 13.48, Pegram was second (fifth) in 13.50, and Williams was third (eighth) in 14.19.
Graham ran in the 400m hurdles and was third overall (first collegian) in a time of 1:01.28.
Love competed in two more events, coming in first in both – the 200m and 4x400m relay. In the individual event, she ran 23.66 in the 200m and was the second overall finisher, but first collegian. She helped closed out the meet by teaming up with Amari Prude,
Avi'Tal Wilson-Perteete and
Gizelle Reid to clock a time of 3:40.31 for the win in the 4x400m relay.
Emma Wahlenmaier took eighth (fifth collegian) in the 800m in a personal-best time of 2:13.75.
In the shot put,
Mackenna Howard claimed the top spot in the shot put (51-2.25/15.60m), while
Cassidy Osborne-Butler was second (49-7/15.11m).
The Rebels also had a couple good showings in a pair of jumping events, as
Jonon Young was second in the triple jump with a personal-best mark of 40-7 (12.37m) and
Jartierra Grissom was fourth in the high jump with a distance of 5-7 (1.70m).
NEXT TIME OUT: The Rebels will take some time off before reconvening in Clovis, California, for the four-day, Mountain West Outdoor Championships. The conference meet will begin May 8 and run through May 11.

Elisa Rovere competed in the 400m hurdles for the first time as a Rebel and finished eighth overall (fifth collegian) with a time of 1:02.99.
- Rovere also ran the 1500m and was the fourth collegiate finisher (fifth overall) in 4:34.40.
- Prude also ran in the 400m and was the second collegiate finisher (eighth overall) in 55.72.
- Reid ran a personal-best time of 2:20.44 in the 800m.
