Sid Acosta has been named to the Rimington Trophy Watch List it was announced Friday by the award's committee.

The Rimington Trophy is awarded each year to the nation's top college football center. The winner will be honored at the Rimington Trophy Presentation banquet at the Rococo Theater in Lincoln, Nebraska, on Jan. 18, 2020.

Acosta, a native of Corona, California, and graduate of Centennial High School and transfer from Riverside City College, started 11 games last season as a junior for the nation's 19
th-ranked rushing attack. He was named 2019 Preseason Fourth Team All-Mountain West by Phil Steele's.

Since its inception, the 17-year-old award has raised more than $4.2 million for the Boomer Esiason Foundation, which is committed to finding a cure for cystic fibrosis. Dave Rimington, the award's namesake, was a consensus first-team All-America center at the University of Nebraska in 1981 and 1982, during which time he became the John Outland Trophy's only two-time winner as the nation's finest college interior lineman. The Rimington Trophy is a member of the National College Football Awards Association (NCFAA),
which encompasses the most prestigious awards in college football. Founded in 1997, the NCFAA
