The fifth preseason camp under UNLV head coach
Tony Sanchez opened Friday with 104 players on the roster for the Rebels on the first morning at Rebel Park.
Competing on a beautiful day in the shadow of the soon-to-open, $34 million Fertitta Football Complex, the 98-minute session followed a series of administrative meetings during Thursday's reporting day.
Sanchez met the media after the initial practice and said it was a positive start.
"A good day," said Sanchez. "We were not out there too long – only about 100 minutes. The pacing was good and the guys were in good shape coming in. We are all excited to be out here with a such a good group."
The Rebels will be right back on the field Saturday morning for Day 2. All of UNLV's camp practices are closed to the public.
