BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV women's soccer ended its first road trip of the year with a dramatic come-from-behind 2-1 victory at Cal State Bakersfield Sunday afternoon, which saw the Rebels come up with the game-winner with under a minute and a half to play. The deciding goal capped an impressive performance by freshman and Las Vegas native
Alysa Caso, who scored both of the UNLV goals over the final 17 minutes to complete the comeback.
The victory for the Rebels was its fourth consecutive against CSUB over the last four years, while they remained undefeated against the Roadrunners all time (5-0).
CSUB took the lead on an early goal in the 24th minute, but the Rebel defense and sophomore keeper
Emberly Sevilla clamped down and kept the home team out of net the remainder of the game.
Through the first two weekend, UNLV is now 2-1, while the defeat dropped CSUB to 2-2 overall.
TURNING POINT: After Caso evened the score at one in the 74th minute on her first career goal, the Rebels ramped up the pressure on the offensive side of the ball. Just when it looked like the game was destined for overtime, that pressure paid off as Caso crashed the net on a corner, saw her first show bounce off the keeper, but collected the ricochet and found the back of the net with 1:23 remaining.
STAT OF THE GAME: Sevilla turned in a season-high six saves, including two big saves late in the second half, to set up the comeback opportunity.
REBEL OF THE GAME: No surprise here. Caso was seeing her first significant playing time of the season and made the most of it. Her first goal was impressive as it came from about 22 yards out and hit the opposite corner of the goal over the keepers head, while the second score was a lesson in staying relentless in the box.
QUOTABLE: "The team showed a lot of heart today in tough conditions - it was our second game of the weekend and our opponent had more rest. It wasn't our best first half and we dug ourselves a hole, but the team responded well in the second half and showed a lot of heart to pick up the win."

Chris Shaw
UP NEXT: UNLV will be back on the road next weekend with what will be its toughest stretch of the young season - a Thursday matchup against No. 10 Duke and a Sunday showdown with No. 2 North Carolina as part of the Duke Classic in Durham, North Carolina.
