Timo Mehlich scored the game's only goals 59 seconds apart and sophomore goalkeeper
Lukas Betz claimed his first shutout as a Rebel as UNLV blanked Pacific 2-0 in men's soccer action Friday at Knoles Field.
It was both the second straight road win and second-straight two-goal victory for UNLV (2-3), while the Tigers dropped to 1-3 with the loss, despite holding a 19-8 advantage in shots. UNLV however managed five of its eight shots on goal and cashed in on almost half of those attempts. Mehlich's scores came in the 41st and 42nd minutes. Betz, a sophomore transfer in his third career start, collected seven saves for the shutout.
UNLV returns to action Sunday with a 2 pm road contest at San Francisco.
