LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – Tied in the fourth quarter,
Fresno State (2-1/2-1) scored the game's final 13 points to down
UNLV (0-3/0-3) 40-27 Saturday afternoon in front of the 2,000 fans allowed in Allegiant Stadium by health officials.
The Rebels, who saw a season-high in points scored, enjoyed their first leads of 2020, 7-6, 10-6 and then 17-13 in the first half and then quarterback
Max Gilliam's 71-yard scoring jaunt eventually tied things heading into the final quarter before the Bulldogs added a touchdown and a pair of field goals.
Fresno State turned a trio of UNLV turnovers into 10 points and running back Ronnie Rivers was outstanding for the visitors, rushing for 133 yards and three TDs and catching six passes for 99 yards and another score.

Charles Williams ran for 89 yards against his hometown team, which moved him past Kirk Jones (1983-86) into fifth place on UNLV's career list with 2,713.

Jacoby Windmon led the way defensively for UNLV with a team-high nine total tackles, two pass breakups and 2.5 quarterback sacks. He became the first Rebel to record more than two sacks in a game since Jeremy Geathers also had 2.5 vs. Wyoming in 2006.
STAT OF THE GAME:
UNLV's defense posted four sacks – all in the first half – in a game for the first time since the 2019 opening win over Southern Utah.

-Gilliam became the 11
th quarterback in UNLV history rush for 100 yards in a game as his 139 net gain on 16 carries (despite losing 31 yard on six sacks) ranked seventh by a Rebel signal-caller. Of the 18 all-time century mark games by a QB, 10 have happened since the start of the 2016 season.
