Lady Rebels Host Another MW Series This Weekend Against The Lobos

UNLV facing the nation's top scoring offense.

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV gets an unexpected two home games this weekend, as the Lady Rebels are hosting the New Mexico Lobos in Mountain West series Friday and Sunday in the Cox Pavilion. Both games will have a 2 pm start. The games were originally scheduled as road game for the Lobos until the switch.

Because of the region's COVID-19 situation, fans are not allowed to attend. There will be a live video stream available on the Mountain West Network, featuring the call of Ben Wilson and Ashly Dickinson (color analyst) on Friday, while Jeremy Roach will serve as color analyst on Sunday's broadcast. Wyatt Tomchek will provide play-by-play for the Lady Rebels' radio broadcast, and will be joined by Ashly Dickinson as color analyst for the Sunday contest. Both the video stream and the radio broadcast can be accessed at UNLVRebels.com.

UNLV Game Notes

♦  UNLV was originally scheduled to play on the road at New Mexico this week, but conflicts due to COVID-19 switched the location to UNLV's Cox Pavilion for this weekend's contests
♦  UNLV comes into the series off a 1-1 split with Colorado State, having knocked off the Rams 80-76 in game one behind a career-high 29 points from Bailey Thomas, before falling by nine in game two.
♦  This will be the first game for New Mexico since Jan. 2, the second of two wins at UNR for the Lobos, who have started out the season 5-0 with all five games away from Albuquerque.
♦  New Mexico brings in the nation's top scoring offense into the two-game series, as the Lobos are averaging 95.4 points per game. However, that's come against a schedule in which the highest ranked team in the NET rankings was 198. UNLV meanwhile has played eight games against teams ranked 190 or higher in the NET rankings.
♦  For the second straight series there should be a lot of three balls flying, as the Lobos come in fourth in the nation with 11.2 three-point makes per game, while UNLV is 29th with 8.6 per contest.
♦  UNLV is one of the youngest and most inexperienced teams in the nation. The 11-player Lady Rebels roster is the sixth-youngest team in the nation with an average age of 19.5, while they are the only team in the nation with at least 90% of its roster that started the season with just one career total Division I start.
