ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV volleyball team defeated New Mexico Thursday night in four sets (25-16, 25-20, 19-25, 25-15) at the Johnson Center, recording its second straight win and third in its last four matches.
Senior Lauryn Burt had a double-double with 23 assists and a season-high 16 digs, while fifth-year senior Mariena Hayden and junior Shelby Capllonch each recorded 14 kills to lead the Rebels (18-8, 9-6 MW). Hayden also added a match-high five service aces. Senior Kate Brennan had a season-high seven total blocks with 10 kills, freshman Chloe Thomas also had a season-high seven blocks and sophomore Arien Fafard contributed 22 assists.
New Mexico (17-9, 8-7 MW) was led by Kaitlynn Biassou's double-double of 15 kills and 10 digs, Alia Rasmussen's 32 assists and Alena Moldan's 14 digs.
UNLV dominated in number of team kills 61-38 and outhit the Lobos .262 to .117 for the match. The Rebels also had 56 assists to UNM's 36.
UNLV swept the regular-season series with New Mexico as the Rebels also won 3-1 at home against the Lobos on Oct. 2.
NEXT FOR UNLV: The Rebels will remain on the road this weekend to face Air Force in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 12 p.m. PT.

UNLV concluded its Spring 2021 season with a record-breaking campaign that saw it win the Mountain West title, going undefeated in regular-season play (12-0) and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The team finished the season 13-1 overall.
