Box Score LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV volleyball team swept UNR Saturday evening in three sets at Cox Pavilion for the second matchup of the Silver State Series presented by IBEW Local 401 and Nevada Donor Network.
The 25-19, 25-18, 25-12 victory improved the Rebels' home record this season to 8-3.
Seniors Mariena Hayden and Kate Brennan led UNLV (21-8, 12-6 MW) in points, both scoring a match-high of 12 points for the Rebels. Hayden also recorded a match-high five service aces and seven digs. Freshman Chloe Thomas hit 11 for 12, making it a match-high of .917 and senior Lauryn Burt led the Rebels in assists with 22.
UNLV outhit the Wolf Pack .500 to .232 for the match and out blocked UNR five to nothing.
Reka Monteleone led UNR (3-26, 0-18 MW) in kills with eight and in points with nine, Kaila Spevak had a match-high eight digs and Andrea Alcaraz recorded 22 assists for the Wolf Pack.Â
The Rebels also dominated the Wolf Pack earlier this season in a three set sweep at Reno (25-16, 25-20, 25-13).
UNLV honored the four graduating seniors Milica Tasic, Lauryn Burt, Kate Brennan and Mariena Hayden after the match concluded.
NEXT FOR UNLV: The #4 seed Rebels will take on the #5 seed New Mexico during the first round of the 2021 Mountain West Championship tournament on Wednesday, November 24 at 4 p.m. at the Cox Pavilion.
